Public Act proudly presents a socially engaged Art practice…
“Performance hArt – Strengthening Community through Performance Art.“
Open to all community members, multi-disciplinary artists, activists and rebels who are drawn to the non-permanent and site-specific nature of performance art.
In this course we will use ‘radical-tenderness’ performance pedagogy (mostly based on the work of Guillermo Gomez-Pena) mixed with applied and physical theatre exercises to experiment with each others artistic, political, social and spiritual behaviours to create performance imagery and persona.
The creative process is suitable for absolute beginners, but also open to Multi-disciplinary artists who want to integrate performance art into their artistic and professional life.
The course format will be 6 x 2.5 hr sessions in which we slowly build our skills and trust within the group using both partner exercises and group work, and also a 1 x 5 hour intensive for creation of performance imagery and photography.
